To steal a box successfully, choose a target you can reach, wait for a safe opening, confirm the live prompt, and return directly to your base. The box only creates progress after it is banked and opened. Route completion matters more than how impressive the target looked before the run.
Prepare at your base
Collect available money, confirm free capacity, and decide whether the next spend should happen before the run. Walk the intended route empty if it is new. Note the box, threat position, direct return, blind corners, and where another player could intercept you.
Train first when the empty route already feels slow. A failed carry usually becomes more expensive than a short treadmill block because it consumes time without producing a pet.
Steal from Monster Verity
Observe before entering. Wait long enough to understand how Monster Verity occupies the route in the current server. Approach the box from a side that leaves a direct exit, move into prompt range, confirm once, and verify the carry state.
Turn toward home immediately. Do not stop for a second box, open the Index, or change the route because another target looks better. If the threat blocks the planned line before you commit, wait or choose a nearer box.
Steal from another player
Player targets require scouting. Watch whether the owner is training, opening, shopping, defending, or away on their own route. Check the likely exit and the Speed of nearby players. A distracted owner with a clear path is a better target than an unattended-looking box beside a fast return route.
After the steal, expect the owner to identify you. Bank the box, protect your base, and avoid a second raid until the retaliation risk is understood. The Protect Your Base guide is part of a player-steal plan, not a separate concern.
Use an abort rule
An abort is not wasted time. It preserves the session’s money, attention, and confidence for a target with better odds.
Bank and confirm
At your base, use the current place or open prompt and wait for visible confirmation. If the server is lagging, do not leave until the timer, slot, or box state appears. Check capacity before starting another run.
When a box takes time to open, train or manage the base after it is secure. Community guides show productive waiting as a major early-game advantage.
Fix repeated failures
If you are caught on the return, shorten the route or train Speed. If the prompt does not appear, review Controls and test another nearby interactable. If rivals intercept you, scout the lobby and change timing. If the base cannot accept the result, stop stealing and fix capacity through Base Upgrades.
Change one factor at a time, then repeat the same route. That tells you whether Speed, timing, control, or capacity caused the improvement.
A reliable session template
Warm up empty, complete two safe Monster Verity steals, bank the pets, and buy a useful upgrade. Try one farther box or one distracted player only after those successes. Return to the safe route after the stretch attempt instead of repeating a loss until the session collapses.
This template builds money and route knowledge together. When target selection becomes the harder question, use Best Boxes. When opening and rewards are unclear, use Verity Boxes.
Mistakes to avoid
- Starting a run without knowing where the box is banked.
- Turning toward a new target after the carry begins.
- Treating a crowded route as urgent because a rare-looking box is visible.
- Repeating a failed route without training or changing timing.
- Raiding a player without expecting retaliation.
- Leaving the base before server confirmation registers the box.
Verification boundary
Stealing from Monster Verity and other players is official. Exact prompts, threat behavior, route conditions, carry limits, failure states, and box requirements are live mechanics. Use the current client to fill them in and keep the approach-observe-return discipline even when the map changes.
